Nurse Practitioner
Valerie Tighe offers nurse practitioner appointments in the mornings.
Practice Nurses
Jill Burns, Rachel Hale, Sheila McGibney, Clare Thompson and Sue Dallas.
Our practice nurses are highly qualified and can advise patients on many minor
problems. They also provide general nursing services such as dressings, ear
syringing, removal of stitches and can advise on immunisations to prevent
childhood diseases as well as for foreign travel. They also run specialised
clinics such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, leg ulcer, smoking
cessation and well person. These are all by appointment only.
Health Care Assistant
Lorraine Dean
She provides services under the direction of the nursing team including new
patient health checks.
Dispensing Staff
Dispensary Manager - Samantha Young (BTEC qualified)
Our dispensary staff are available to answer any queries you might have about
your medication. You can contact them on their direct line 01245 472449.
Community Nurses
Team Manager - Jan Valks
The community nurses are attached to the practice and offer a range of skills to
any of our patients who require nursing care at home. This is usually arranged
by the hospital on discharge or by the doctor in other circumstances.
If you need to contact the district nurse team, please telephone the surgery and
leave a message with the reception staff.
Health Visitor
Annie George
Our health visitors not only see mothers and babies, but are well versed in all
health issues and can give advice on a wide range of subjects to all our
patients. They hold a baby clinic at the surgery on Wednesday afternoons between
1.30 and 3.30pm.

Counsellors
Our counselling service is available for those patients requiring help and
support in dealing with emotional difficulties, bereavement and other life
crises. Referrals are made by the doctor and there may be a waiting list.
